Holistic Psychiatry Consultation
After a brief phone call to determine whether the practice is a good fit for your needs, we will schedule a 75-minute initial consultation.

Before Your First Appointment
You will be asked to complete intake forms through a secure patient portal. You may also fax any recent lab work ahead of time or bring with you to your appointment.

During this visit, we will complete a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and collaboratively determine whether this treatment approach is appropriate for your mental health concerns.
If indicated, I may order additional testing, such as:
-
Thyroid function tests
-
Nutritional markers
-
Metabolic markers
-
Genetic testing

My toolbox
General Psychiatry
I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and individualized treatment planning. This may include starting, adjusting, or carefully tapering medications when appropriate.

My prescribing approach is thoughtful and conservative. I prioritize:

-
The lowest effective dose
-
Non-medication options whenever possible
-
Safety and long-term sustainability
I have extensive experience helping patients safely taper medications, including benzodiazepines and antidepressants.
I also assess medical factors that can affect mood and cognition, including thyroid, hormonal, and nutritional issues. When indicated, care may include lab evaluation, high-quality supplements, hormone referrals, or pharmacogenetic testing (Genomind/GeneSight). I collaborate closely with your other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.

Psychotherapy
I offer present-focused, past-informed psychotherapy tailored to your needs.

Modalities include:

-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
-
Psychodynamic therapy
-
Interpersonal therapy
-
Mindfulness-based approaches
-
Motivational interviewing
-
Somatic and positive psychology approaches
If a specialized treatment such as EMDR would be helpful, I provide referrals and collaborate with outside therapists when desired.
Mind–Body Approaches
Many symptoms of anxiety and depression are rooted in disconnection—from the present moment and from the body. Mindfulness and yoga-based practices help restore that connection.
These approaches can support:
-
Emotional regulation
-
Stress reduction
-
Sleep
-
Anxiety and panic symptoms
I may teach skills in session, provide resources, or refer you to trauma-informed mind–body practitioners for deeper work.
Supplements & Integrative Care
When appropriate, I incorporate evidence-informed supplements and herbal supports (such as minerals, fatty acids, probiotics, or botanicals). These are used thoughtfully and safely, alongside—not in place of—necessary medical care.
Lifestyle & Whole-Person Care
Mental health is deeply shaped by how we live. Together, we explore realistic, values-aligned changes in areas such as:

-
Movement
-
Nutrition
-
Substance use and habits
-
Work and burnout
-
Relationships and sexual health
-
Spirituality and meaning
My role is not to prescribe a lifestyle, but to help you identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and support you in building greater vitality, balance, and purpose.
If you'd like, I can also create a more concise homepage version or a slightly more relational, less clinical version.
